Right now, at 16, I have one big goal for 2025: to get into one of the most prestigious universities in America.
I know what I’m up against. These universities aren’t just competitive—they’re extremely competitive to get into. Only about 2% of applicants make it.
Now, throw in the fact that I’ll need financial aid. That number drops even further. But honestly? That doesn’t scare me. If anything, it pushes me harder. I’m not from some elite prep school. I don’t have family connections or unlimited resources.
All I have is my ambition, my work ethic, and a belief that if I authentically show them who I am, it is certainly possible.
I know I might be a little naive. Maybe it’s crazy to think I can beat the odds. But what if I can? What if I don’t even try, and I regret it forever? I’d rather go all-in and fail than wonder "what if" for the rest of my life.
I don’t have all the answers, but I’m figuring it out step by step.
First, I’m learning from the people who’ve done it. I’ve reached out to undergrads, MBAs, American college students, and anyone who can give me real advice on what it takes (and what it's like!).
Second, I’m building the strongest application I can. I’m getting feedback, rewriting, improving, and making sure my story isn’t just another generic essay—it’s me on paper.
And finally, I’m staying grateful. Every piece of advice, every bit of help—I don’t take it for granted. And while searching for financial aid feels like digging for gold, I know there’s a way: "There is gold everywhere. Most people are not trained to see it."
And let’s not forget what Phil Knight said: Step by step, ferociously.
I was born in Sint-Blasius Hospital in Dendermonde, a small town in Belgium. From the start, I was an active and enthusiastic baby, always eager to explore the world.
2016
I attended a small series of coding classes where I learned Scratch, a programming language developed by MIT. It was the perfect kickstart—one that would later open countless doors for me.
2023
Out of 1,173 participants from across Belgium, I secured 19th place among the 78 finalists. It was a great achievement—and an unforgettable day!
2024
In May 2024, I accepted a proposal from my football club’s director to completely redesign the club’s website using WordPress. This was my first real step into the business world.
2024
I’m proud to have officially founded my first company: Web-G. We specialize in building sustainable websites and providing social media marketing for local businesses in Belgium.
2025
As Web-G continues to grow, I decided it was the perfect time to expand the team and bring on three incredibly motivated developers. We’re not just a team—we’re a group of 5 passionate, driven, and yes, meme-loving students working hard to build something meaningful together.
